Live搜索终于支持Sitemap Autodiscovery？

微软实在够搞笑!虽然始终在强调搜索对于其未来的重要性，但Live搜索(包括之前叫MSN搜索时)似乎总给人投入力度不够甚至没人打理的感觉。

以Sitemap标准为例，虽然该标准的提出名义上由Google、Yahoo!、Ask以及微软4家联合推出，但在其他三家很快支持使用Sitemap文件的Ping功能以通知搜索引擎，微软一直没有动作；在Yahoo!提供了向搜索引擎提交Sitemap的接口(SiteExplorer或中文雅虎站点管理器)时，微软无动于衷；在Sitemaps引入了名为“autodiscovery”的扩展支持，让网站直接在robots.txt中加入Sitemaps文件链接地址以使得搜索引擎便能自动找到相应的sitemaps文件时，Live搜索倒是在其官方blog上同步宣布了这个功能，虽然文中说明Live搜索仍暂不支持，但按一般理解，应该是已列入日程很快便可实现的功能，毕竟，既不能手动提交又不能Ping，再不支持autodiscovery的话，所谓的Live搜索支持Sitemap便是一句彻头彻尾的空话嘛!

不料，在三个月后的今天，惊奇地发现原来Live搜索一直在按兵不动!真不知道微软那么多人都去干什么了 。下面是微软Live搜索人员在WebmasterWorld 上对这个问题的回答：

Live Search does not, right now, offer the ability to publish sitemaps via ping or webmaster tools; additionally we do not necessarily take into account sitemaps listed in robots.txt files right at this moment. However, this will change very soon. As some of you may have already discovered, we’ve started considering sitemaps in robots.txt and will extend this to most sites within the next few months. The other methods you’ve mentioned are certainly on our radar for the near future and we’ll be sure to communicate related developments as they happen.

搞笑吧？但愿这个功能真正能够应用于所有网站的时间不会再拖上几个月!
